Clouds For Breakfast
I once knew a monster, and he ate clouds for breakfast. One morning, rising from his slumber, arms stretched he looked up into the sky to see what was for breakfast. To his dismay, he saw a bright blue sky! Not a single cloud in sight. Now this monster, William was his name, he was a friendly monster who used mountain tops for pillows. But not a cloud in sight...this angered William very much so. Being that big, you need a lot of food....or in this case, clouds. And William was bigger then his monster friends, so he really liked his food. They called him the fridge....but we like William better, don't we? Anyways, face turning red from anger (which is unusual seeing as how William is a multi-colored monster) William let out a HUGE growl, "meow". Determined to fill his belly, William started hopping across the land, KABOOM! KABOOM! KABOOM! in search of some trace of a cloud to eat. After hours of searching he still found nothing. Giving up all hope, William plopped down on the ground saddened, KA-CRAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!!! Suddenly, William felt something soft and fluffy tap him in the face. He looked over in wonderment. Sure enough there was a tiny, baby cloud next to him smiling. Just as relief covered Williams face, it was quickly replaced with bewilderment. "Hello there William." "OH MY GOD A TALKING CLOUD!!!!," exclaimed William. "Oh my God a talking monster," replied the little cloud. "I didn't know clouds could talk." "Well just like you William, we too can talk," explained the cloud. "Name's Sonny by the way." "Where are all the clouds Sonny?" "We've been hiding." "Why," asked William. "Because you eat us. You eat us everyday. We never did anything to you, yet you go on eating us....EVER-RY-DAAAAAY!!!" "But I'm so hungry," William explained in his defense. He continued, "But I wouldn't of been eating you if I knew you could talk." "Well we can. And that's why I'm here today. Me fellow clouds nominated me to be the one to risk life and poof ball to try and reason with you. So what do you say? Will you stop eating us?" William's eyes filled with tears, "If I knew you were alive, I would've never eaten you. So many clouds....gone....just like that. With a single chomp." "Hey hey hey there Big Guy," said Sonny. "You didn't know. We don't hold it against you." SNIFF SNIFF, "You don't," asked William. "No. We would just appreciate it if you didn't do it anymore. We're just so innocent. We just mind our own business, floating around in the sky....and then you come along and start devouring us!" "BWAAAAAAAH AH AH AH," cried William. "I'm sorry I'm sorry," said Sonny, "I got carried away. It's ok friend. We were just wondering if you could eat something not so innocent." William lifted his head, feeling better already, "Yeah! Yeah Sonny, I could do that. Gee, I'm sorry I ate all your friends." "And my parents," muttered Sonny under his cloudy breath. "What's that?" "Oh nothing." "Well then, what should I eat instead of clouds Sonny?" William asked. Sonny thought for a second, "Hmmm, something not innocent like us clouds. Preferably something less fluffy as well....hmmm. "How about humans!?"
